In his 20s, John Hardie left Asheville for about 11 years to live in Wilmington, NC. He returned in 2011 to help his mom with the family business – Fresh as a Daisy Cleaning Service – so she could retire. Today, he’s more focused on helping people find homes – but he still has an innate ability to recognize a good clean property when he sees one.
I really enjoy helping people buy or sell a home the right way. When I say the “right way” I mean ensuring that everyone understands expectations. It’s key not to waste people’s time. For example, if a buyer wants to look at a house that has no garage, but a garage was on their must-have list, I will make sure they know that. There are a lot of moving parts to a real estate deal on the buying and selling side, so just guiding a client the right way through the process is very satisfying. Also, the relationships that are created in this business are very important to me.
I work with both. The thing I like most about working with sellers is that I don’t have to drive as much 😉.
While technology has empowered individuals with more information and resources, it’s important to remember that a real estate agent’s role extends beyond just accessing data. Their expertise, experience and personalized guidance can significantly enhance a client’s real estate journey, ultimately saving them time, money and potential headaches.
What differentiates me and our team is what we offer:
Collaboration: Agents work with each other and support each other. We do things like have co-listings and help with showings.
A strong network
Expertise and experience
Support and mentorship
My favorite thing is the camaraderie within the team. We have a great vibe in our office and when we attend charity events together that just makes it more fun. For example, we all attended a tractor pull to raise money for first responders. It was a great time.
For homebuyers: Make a list of must-haves and dealbreakers. Consider long-term goals and don’t overlook the costs of homeownership.
For sellers: Enhance curb appeal. Declutter and depersonalize. Price it right. Market effectively and be flexible and responsive.
The second home market is hot. The region’s scenic landscapes, including the Blue Ridge Mountains and access to outdoor recreational activities, have made it attractive for individuals seeking second homes or vacation properties. This demand has contributed to rising properties. And, there are still a lot of cash buyers out there.
I had a listing in Carriage Park in Hendersonville and my listing agreement was about to end. I got it under contract on the last day of the agreement! I really had to scramble to get that deal together at the last minute, but I made it happen.
I’m a member of the Elks’ Lodge. I try to volunteer with this group as much as I can because they do a great deal for the community. I think most people believe this organization is mostly for the older generations, but it’s not. Many younger people are joining and that’s really helping the community.
